Tata Motors Unveils Tata Ace EV With Range Of 154 Km
India’s largest commercial vehicle manufacturer, Tata Motors has launched the electric version of their most popular small commercial vehicle, the Ace EV . The new Tata Ace EV is now the most advanced, four-wheel commercial vehicle with zero-emission in the freight segment.
Tata Ace EV :
The launch is exactly 17 years after the launch of the Ace aka Choto Hathi. The new Ace EV will provide smart transport solutions in a variety of intra-city applications, designed for timely and efficient last mile delivery.
Tata Motors’ very successful ‘Chota Haathi’ has been one of the bestsellers in the segment, commanding a 70 per cent market share and was already available in petrol, diesel, and CNG. Now with the addition of an all-electric version, Tata Motors has covered all bases.
Ace EV will debut Tata Motors’ EVOGEN powertrain with a 21.3 kWh battery and a certified range of 154 kilometers. The battery is suitable for all types of weather and features an advanced cooling system with regenerative braking for that extra range. Both fast charging and regular charging modes are available.
With the former, the Ace EV takes 6-7 hours to charge from 20% to 100%, and with the latter, the Ace EV can charge 10% to 80% of the battery in just 105 minutes. The power output of its electric motor is rated at 36 bhp with 130 Nm of torque, and a single-speed gearbox handles the transmission duties.

The container of the Ace EV is made up of lightweight durable materials, perfectly suited for e-commerce logistics. Besides, the cargo volume is rated at 208 cu.ft with payload capacity up to 600 kg, and a grade-ability of 22% allows easy ascend and descend during fully loaded situations.
To ensure its success, Tata Motors has also signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding with leading e-commerce companies – Amazon, Big Basket, City Link, MoEVing, Yelo EV, Flipkart, LetsTransport, and DOT. As per the MoU, the Indian manufacturer will deliver 39,000 units of Ace EVs.
This will further lead to the establishment of dedicated Electric Vehicle Support Centres for maximum fleet functionality. The launch of the Tata Ace EV will also set in motion the deployment of Tata Fleet Edge, Tata’s next-generation optional fleet management solution. It will also help in the development of Tata UniEVerse, the marque’s proven EV enabling ecosystem.
