Rivian R1T electric pickup arrives as fastest truck 2023
As Revenian pickup trucks continue to grow slowly and steadily, real electric car startup statistics are back in the spotlight.
Innovative company is an industrial phenomenon. It was the first electric truck on the market, beating Ford, GM and Tesla with the Rivian R1T. The company plans to launch its SUV in early 2023.
With the delivery of fewer than 1,500 vehicles to date, Rivian has also assumed a new title. It’s the fastest truck ever made.
Rivian R1T electric :
The 2022 Rivian R1T electric truck is moving at its best speed from zero to 60 miles per hour in 3.1 seconds, according to a comprehensive test of the motor trend.
The record was achieved on 21-inch rims and all-season road tires. On all-terrain tires and 20-inch rims, the Revian achieved a best time of 60 mph from zero in 3.2 seconds.
MotorTrend, which has been testing cars since 1949, conducted most of its acceleration tests at the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California. It uses a logical and detailed method.
According to the publication, on a windy day the testers were engaged in motion tests on both sides and averaged the results.
Also, MotorTrend calculates each test by subtracting one foot of the “rollout”. The result is a bar similar to a drag strip decorated with a light tree. It does not test cars in wet weather.
The publication further states:
“This (Revan) is the first mass-produced electric vehicle with four separate electric engines. Quad-motor drives deliver the maximum amount of torque to each tire. Revan’s algorithm can change the amount of power going into each motor based on the tire’s slipping.
“Torque-vectoring technology is convenient off-road ৷ on-road, which makes the Revan R1T the level of performance of sports sedans.
The new Revian has 835 horsepower and 11,000 pounds of towing capacity. Its range is 314 miles.
The Revian truck surpassed the previous fastest truck, the Ram 1500 TRX, by one second. It was timed at 4.1 seconds by MotorTrend.
